I figured that

localectl --no-convert set-x11-keymap us pc105+inet ""

was the clean way of tackling it.

This is just a short note to send you a big "Thank You" for your very helpful post on the XorgBackspaceTerminate issue.

Until you tackled it, it seems it was one of those annoying things that no one bothered to look into because ... whatever for?

It would have probably stayed that way given it's realtive complexity and lack of relevance. ie: who uses it?

But I for one (and I'm sure many others) find Control+Alt+Backspace to be very useful, so thank you very much for taking the time to research, fix and publish the HowTo.

Best,

A.

I think if you move to Wayland, you will have to start using SaK. (Enable sysrq+k, or even the "proper" method described in "SAK.txt" does not seem too awkward). I guess in the old days SaK was undesirable and would leave you without a working text console, but we nowadays we have kernel modesetting to sort it out.
